About Rowan
The Rowan Consultancy was founded in 2000 by Sallyann Betts.
Having taken a sabbatical to start a family, Sallyann was tempted back in to the professional world at the request of a previous client who needed resource to research a specific market sector, without the high cost structure of many research consultancies or the introduction fees of the interim agencies. Following the successful delivery of this project, the relationship flourished and many joint projects have been completed since.
Recognising a gap in the market for flexible marketing & business solutions provided by a consultancy with a deep understanding of a client’s culture and business needs, Sallyann gradually developed the services Rowan is able to offer and rolled these out to previous clients and business contacts.
Sallyann’s career began at ICI’s Purchasing Department resulting in a detailed knowledge of procurement processes and negotiation techniques. However, Sallyann’s passion lay with things more creative and she quickly moved to the Marketing Department, working in Product Management.
Again, with a greater passion for the consumer marketplace rather than traditional chemicals, Sallyann left ICI to move in to the marketing services and creative agency sector, working for a number of agencies on a broad-base of blue chip client accounts.
Sallyann is a Member of the Institute of Direct Marketing and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
